Breakfast in Taos
Sylvia reminded me that this week is my only open week without medical appointments through July. And, then she asked, "How are you feeling now?" I replied that I was feeling good again, and I would really like to fly fish and net some trout. Then she suggested we should do our usual Taos trip to get on some nice streams and fish. Yeah, I do love her!
We had a great time in Taos and surrounding high country on this impromptu trip. I was able to get on three different streams and float a dry fly. I was also able to check off of my Grand Slam List another trout species...our beloved Rio Grande Cutthroat trout. Oh yeah, we tramped through beautiful landscapes, trout streams, and immersed ourselves into the kick-back culture of Taos. After being out of action since June 6th, it felt great to do normal things again. I've always loved having Sylvia join me for fly fishing adventures, and we had a fabulous time at our favorite New Mexico destinations.
Life is good!
Gear: Winston WT 8' 4wt fly rod; Bauer SST4 fly reel; Patagonia sling pack; Wayward landing net; Adams and Elk Hair Caddis dry flies each day.
Looking great!!! As Gene Hill once said- A woman who says "Have a good time" is always beautiful. Great pics and wonderful story- glad to see you are on the mend and enjoying time with your better half. Nice trout!!! My wife always encourages me to go fishing and often joins me on the water. We are lucky men.

DeleteGlad you two got out on your annual taos trip. What a great time. Check off the rg cutt, that stream looks fishable for change. Great scenery pics and good looking food. I'm glad you're doing great, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve! The trip was special. You won't believe this, but I was the only angler in that big beautiful valley. Sylvia and I had so much fun fishing, dining, and gawking at some beautiful landscapes. Life is good!
