The Crossroads By C.J. Box

Another captivating read from C.J. Box in his Joe Pickett series. This book introduces a unique twist as Joe Pickett is ambushed and left in a coma with a gunshot wound to the head. While Joes is unconscious, his three daughters embark on a mission to uncover the truth behind the men who shot their father. Their investigative skills are put to the test as they navigate the small town of Saddlestring, Wyoming, to bring justice to their father and solve the mystery.

Yeah, I enjoyed reading Crossroads and eagerly anticipate the release of another Joe Pickett thriller in the near future. Keep up the great work, C.J. Box, and we'll continue to purchase and follow Joe's adventures as a Game Warden in Wyoming. One suggestion? I'm eagerly looking forward to Nate's return to his usual role as Joe's loyal sidekick and warrior, ready to fight against the villains and save the day.

  1. Just finished it. I thought it was excellent but got tedious in spots. The last chapter was a killer. I told my wife, skip some parts and and go to the end. Now if you want a real thriller, read this one: The Lincoln Lawyer series by Michael Connelly is terrific. His latest, The Proving Ground is a real page turner. You will not put it down. The series is about 9 books. All excellent. Enjoy.

    1. Yeah, the situation with the uncle living in a cabin while tethered to an explosive collar was a bit "out there" I must say. I have your suggestion jotted down for future read. I'm in the Jack Carr books now, and enjoying them much.
