Ultra-Light Indeed
A particular quiver of rods of mine has two specialized models that are well suited for my home waters. They were designed for small mountain Rio's, willow-lined creeks, and meandering streams that often have sections of dense canopy, presenting numerous casting challenges. Both rods are graphite and are Winston WT light trout rods in 6’6” 2wt and 7’ 3wt models. These two specialized fly rods are perfect for anglers who love fishing the blue lines out here in the West.
Sadly, fly rods like these are hardly manufactured by those name-brand rod companies once known for creek rods. Consequently, I’m not interested in selling any creek rod due to the severe lack of replacement options in today’s market. And furthermore, I’m not considering any ultra-light rods not produced in the USA. Yeah, I've been spoiled. I’ll have to fish with what I have. Fortunately, I had the foresight to acquire the best of the best when these specialized rods were available.
While your fishing needs may differ from mine, I have found these two rods to be an ideal fit for my fly fishing style. Yes, some of my most memorable fishing trips included one of these classic rods.
