Glassy
Glass fly rods have their own personality, and if you're fishing with a good one, you're having a great day in the outdoors. For me, I like rigging up this Scott F703 when I'm in for a relaxing day on a trout stream. It's the 7' 3wt model from the Scott F series, with the black blank, in a three-piece configuration. While I do prefer graphite rods for my small stream fishing, this old rod is a nice diversion for a carefree day. And, it's a great length and line weight for my home waters. Yup, glass rods are known for their easy loading qualities, making them a favorite among many who enjoy fishing the blue lines out here in the wild West.
Below are a few photos of this classic Scott F703 rod, during some fly fishing adventures on high-altitude Rio's. Glassy. Classy. And much fun to cast a dry fly....even better to tight line a trout into the net. Yes it is!
