Once again, my favorite rod this year is the Winston WT TMF fly rod, preferably with a Winston Perfect 3 1/8" fly reel locked into its maple reel seat. This thirty-seven-year design is not becoming older, only better. The only reason it didn't capture my most fished fly rod category in 2025 is the fewer opportunities for fishing small streams with open environments. My stream designations were different from years past, and as a result, the usual fly gear changed too. If I were a betting man, I would bet on this rod capturing both "most fished", and "favorite rod" categories in 2026. It's just that good!
