Picnic & Baseball

Sylvia suggested we spend part of the day up on Rainy Mountain with a lunch, some fly fishing, and then drive back in time for our grandson's baseball game. My reaction? Great idea sweetheart! My wife joins me occasionally for some relaxation, picnic lunches, and immersing herself in a book while I fly fish. And, having Sylvia there is my favorite kind of fishing trip. I'm a lucky guy!

We found a nice secluded area in the park right by the trout stream, and set up lunch on the picnic table for a relaxing bite to eat with cold drinks. No hurry, just being in the moment with the sounds of the stream and the woods. After we finished lunch, Sylvia moved her chair to a spot overlooking the stream and began reading her book, while I rigged up a 3wt rod.

Today wasn't about fishing to be honest, but I netted a couple of Leetle Fellers and then rejoined Sylvia back at the picnic table. I broke down the gear and immersed myself into a few chapters of my own book. We departed around mid-afternoon to get back to town in time to watch our grandson's 4pm baseball game. Well, we were a little late to the game, but that's okay, he knew we were there. Yeah, just a great day!
