Cooler Than Cool

The colder temperatures and rain have kept me off the trout streams for a while now. Among other commitments too. So, here's another gear post. This year, or next, will most likely be my last year(s) to camp. I'm losing interest in going on fishing trips that require a bunch of work setting up camps. Yup, I'll be staying in cabins and motels more and more as time goes on. Still though, I'm going to have a need for coolers when in our National Forests. And, I've sort of evolved to these three Yeti coolers. They should take me through the rest of my years.

Three years ago, I purchased a green hard sided 45 Tundra cooler. I added another Yeti last year, a Roadie 24 hard sided cooler. This year, I used a couple of Bass Pro gift cards to go towards their newest and smallest Yeti model, a Roadie 15 cooler. And, I added the optional dry food basket for each of them. That's it, all I'll ever need. They're great when camping, or for a day trip up to Rainy Mountain with the family. I mix and match sizes depending on the adventure.

Tundra 45Perfect for extended camping adventures, the Tundra 45 Cooler has 3'' of PermaFrost™ polyurethane foam insulation, and pairs with an InterLock lid system and freezer-quality ColdLock gasket to seal in cold. Yup, it's bear proof too! The only downside is it gets pretty heavy when loaded, so it's only used for five day or longer camping adventures.

Roadie 24 - A space-saving design that fits easily behind the front seat of my fishing truck. Rotomolded RockSolid™ construction and an interlocking hinge system provide the durability required of any adventure, while the PermaFrost™ Insulation, InterLock™ lid system, and freezer-quality ColdLock™ gasket keep everything chilled. This YETI cooler is a tall design that fits a bottle of wine or 2L soda bottle upright with ease.

Roadie 15 - The smallest cooler in the Roadie lineup, makes for a perfect go-anywhere, hard sided cooler. This one will become my favorite cooler. The cooler's construction provides all the toughness needed for my fly fishing and camping adventures, while the convenient quick latch system makes it easy to access the contents with 1 hand. This one is perfect for those day fishing trips up on Rainy Mountain.
