The Company Watch

I didn't get a gold watch when I retired, but did receive a couple of service award watches in two companies of which I was an employee. I still wear them on occasions, but try to keep them looking nice...so no,  I don't wear them on the trout streams. Well, I have with one of them. No longer do that these days, though. My wife recently purchased for me a couple of watches to wear while fishing in the canyon streams. My long time fishing watch finally stopped clicking, an old plastic Coleman I've worn for over twenty five years while fishing the streams in New Mexico. And, these two inexpensive watches that Sylvia found on sale will replace my old fishing watch very nicely. They too are black and are perfect for risk-free fishing.

There are a few other wrist watches in my vanity drawer that I rotate through each week, and they have nice memories that go along with them, either given to me from my wife, or a few that I purchased myself. Expensive watches have never been of interest to me, more a practical watch at an affordable price has been my history.

My stepson gave me an Apple watch a couple of years ago and I really like it, especially since it syncs with my iPhone. I do wear it on a regular basis, but I still strap on my old analog watches too. Those old watches just have a warm feel and tick-tock that is comforting.
