A Clear View
I've been driving with a cracked windshield for over two years. With good reason. I can't go six months without a rock hitting a windshield. My fishing buddies and friends are always commenting something polite like, "I see you still have those cracks." Yup, and I always say I'm saving money. I figure each year I don't fix any rock smackers, I'm saving two to four insurance deposits on new windshields. Well, I finally decided to have it fixed. I calculated my savings (due to not replacing windshields) at a few hundred dollars or enough savings to pay for the new glass. Yeah, I know...not logical. But, I'm happy.
The only problem now is a clear view....my eyes ache because I can now see out into infinity on my New Mexico road trips (LOL). Seriously though, l do love gawking at those wide open spaces while driving to far away trout streams, and it's nice not having to peer between the cracks to see the beauty.

April is generally when I get all the cars maintained. I drove my BMW Z3 off the dealer lot twenty six years ago. The roadster got new rubber this week and she drives and performs as good as when it was a new car. The truck takes me to amazing trout streams throughout the southwest, but the roadster is the car that makes me feel young again. Even though the roadster is twenty six years old, she only has 80K on the speedometer...taking her through the gears is so much fun!
Yea I think I have mentioned the cracks but I also know why you let it ride. Enjoy the view while you can. A flying rock may be in your future.
ReplyDeleteLOL...yeah, it won't last long. I also had them replace that side driver's door window too. Remember that? Well, it's a clean machine for now, anyway.
