Top Fly - 2024
Yeah, I fish with six particular dry flies more than any others each year, to fool those Leetle Fellers in my home waters. Because they work. However, one fly usually gets fished the most and this year the most chosen fly was the #12 Black Elk Hair Caddis. It's a fly that gets fished a lot each year and so far the wild trout haven't become tired of trying to eat it...lucky me!
I learned about which dry flies were most effective on Rainy Mountain from a Game Ranger. Nope, he didn't suggest my top dry fly as the most effective on these home waters of mine, as he had a different favored trout fly. However, he said some things about what the wild browns tend to hit that caused me to change up my fly box assortment. Yup, I'll keep that tidbit to myself for the time being. Sorry! But hey, I did share my top dry fly with you!!!!

Your black caddis is a great fly on your little streams. I have a bunch in my fly box now. They work on my little streams sometimes.
ReplyDeleteIt's rare it doesn't work on my home waters...I have had good success with it on Colorado streams too. Guess I need to get on an AZ stream to try it out:)
DeleteCome over next year sometime for apache trout.
