Rod Holder
My topic is probably not what you’re thinking. The rod holder I’m referring to? Actually, a tree on the bank of a trout steam I like to fish has a cut off branch where I hang my fly rods. I've been fishing this particular spot for over ten years now. It's just a small stretch of stream that I wade into for a relaxing day of fishing.
My neighbor, Brian, introduced Neal and me to this place back when I started getting passionate about small stream fishing, and I've been fishing it ever since. Before the three of us separated to fish in different areas, we would agree on a time to meet back at the vehicle for lunch. We would set up chairs by the side of the stream for a lunch and share our fish stories, and other topics of interest. All of the stories were true, of course. The tree has been used as a fly rod holder by me for all of these years. A convenient place to rest my rods and keep them off the ground to prevent any accidents while we had our lunch breaks. This place has good memories and is still making new stories...hopefully for many years to come. One of many fishing legacies of Brian. Yup, I always think of him whenever I'm here....
