Summer Breeze
When I'm on a stream, I love a soft breeze that gently swings a leaf, bends some tall grass, or lightly swings my dry fly as it sails above the stream's surface. It's seems magical because I can't see the breeze itself, only the effects of it upon my immediate surroundings. A subtle breeze is nature's breath of life, yes indeed.
Here in New Mexico, we begin to see lighter breezes in late May and through the fall. And, it's such a relief from the early spring winds that blast over our open landscapes, as though it's trying to rush us into the monsoon season. Yes, it sometimes succeeds in that perceived goal of mother nature.
So, I say, "come on summer." I'm ready to enjoy all you have to offer for us fly fishers. Even if it's only a Leetle Feller into my net!
