Everyday Fly Box
Wheatley doesn't make this Malvern compartment box model anymore...I don't believe so, anyway. And, I don't know why, because it's a durable fly box that just works great out in the field. It has the same aluminum compartment insert as Wheatley's more expensive aluminum fly boxes. However, the clear lid and plastic bottom of this vintage box makes it very practical to keep in my sling pack. Also, the soft Wheatley pouch that I slide the box into for safe keeping is a worthwhile accessory. Why do I like this box so much? I can see the flies inside each compartment, without having to open the box...very helpful when on the stream and considering a change of fly.
Features:
- 6" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/4"
- Clear Lid and Plastic Bottom
- Spring-loaded compartments
- 16 Compartments w/clear lids
This box along with a small shirt pocket size fly box is all I need for a multi-day fishing trip. Oh wait. Yeah, for out of state trips I will also pack my 'Hail Mary' 32 compartment box.
