The Grey Ghost Murders
Sean has now been living in Montana for fourteen months and it seems he has found a home in Bridger, Montana. While guiding a client down the Madison, the conversation turned to historical trout flies and a fly tying club named the Madison River Liars and Fly Tiers Club. The client told Sean he lost a fly box at the 3 dollar bridge area and would pay Sean to search for it the next day...he had a plane to catch that evening and the vintage Wheatley fly box had over $1,000 worth of flies in it. Turns out, the request was a ruse to get Sean to meet the club's membership for an interview. They were descreetly searching for an investigator to find two historical trout flies that were stolen from the riverside cabin.
When remains of two individuals are found on Sphinx Mountain, Sheriff Martha Ettinger turns to Sean for help in solving what she suspects is murder. And, the group of fisherman in the club have also hired him based on their meeting with him to find their valuable vintage trout flies. Are these two cases connected? Well, to find out, Sean crosses paths with some powerful people in the Madison Valley.
Another excellent book by Keith McCafferty that surely will keep any fly fisherman reading it on suspense, with surprises through to the end.
