This is no ordinary Abel TR2 reel. I purchased it new several years ago, directly out of Steve Abel's personal collection, and it has a unique feature that is not seen on the regular production TR reels. If you look closely at the cover plate on the spool, you will notice two Abel logos. I have never seen another Abel reel with this feature. This TR2 reel was an early manufacture by Steve and has the highly coveted solid back plate that was optional back in the day. The platinum finish was also an option that sold for a premium price. It's still a beautiful reel even to this day...I call it a classic.
