Last Day
My fishing buddy, Steve is heading home to Arizona today. Our last day of fishing was yesterday and it was a good day...Steve, Rich, and I, all netted a bunch of brown trout. We got an early start at a chance to drift a fly over some trouts' noses when temps were much cooler during the morning. And, it paid off. I've never seen so many healthy, fat browns in that stream in all the years I've fished that area. They were spooky as ever and I do believe there was a 100-to-1 ratio of spooked fish to one fish in the net. Oh man they were active.
The highlight of the day? As we were driving out of the area for another stream, we spotted a huge herd of Elk grazing in the valley. The rangers say they usually run about 300 head in each of the herds that call the area home. I believe it...a beautiful sight!
Gear: Winston WT 7' 3wt fly rod; Perfetta fly reel; Rio LightLine WF3F line; #12 Black Elk Hair Caddis dry fly.
