Winston Reel Seats

I have always been amazed at the options R.L. Winston provided their customers, regarding the number of reel seats, during the IM6/WT production years. In today's world, you would have to go to a custom rod builder to have the options that Winston made available for rod purchases. Yeah, those were the good ol' days at Winston.

My favorite reel seat is a maple spacer with sliding band and cap hardware...nickel silver, of course. Well, at least for small stream rods in the 2 through 4 weight models. It's light, looks handsome, and is in keeping with the classic style of a fly reel being locked into the very back of the rod. It just looks right to my eye.
