Nonstop Action...

It was a day that everything seemed to be right for fly fishing up on Rainy Mountain...cool temps, nice hatches, partly cloudy skies, and two guys who were looking for some surface explosions on their dry fly. Dang, it almost was too easy yesterday. As long as Rich and I didn't just walk up to the stream in their line of site, we could count on a tight line everywhere we fished. It was a good day, for sure!

Driving along the mountain roads, we could see the Aspen's gold colors beginning to burst out of a background of dark green Ponderosa Pines. Autumn is here and there will soon be an explosion of colors splattered through out the mountain sides here in New Mexico. My favorite time of year for fly fishing and  I'm going to fish the streams as much as possible this fall. Yep, the brown trout are getting frisky!!!!

Gear: Winston TMF 8' 4wt fly rod; Bauer SST4 fly reel; Rio LightLine WF4F fly line; My secret fly...all day long.
