This Year's Tribute - Tom Morgan
Tom Morgan was a pioneer in the fly fishing industry, building a successful rod manufacturing business that has become a legendary name around the world - R.L. Winston. If that wasn't impressive enough, Tom's character and professionalism was even more impressive. People who knew him, or briefly was acquainted with him, felt he was their friend for life. Genuinely nice people, like Tom, seem to be getting more and more rare in today's society.
So, as a tribute to Tom, I'm going to fish his favorite rod more than any in my quiver of rods this year. That rod, of course, being the Winston TMF 8' 4wt fly rod. It was Tom's favorite rod model and will be mine this year too, fishing it on some of the finest New Mexico streams around the state...and in Colorado too. Chances are darn good, when I'm not fishing the TMF, I'll have an IM6/WT rod while wading the streams...another nod to Tom and his legacy rods.
