Drawing To a Perfect Pair - Winston WT and TMF

A couple of my favorite streams (creeks actually) up north are absolutely perfect for two rods of mine. The Winston WT 8' 2wt and the Winston TMF 8' 4wt fly rods. Notice they are both 8 footers and WT models. The length is just right for these small streams, for an accurate casts...and the light weights are perfect for the small native trout residing in these streams that wind through a beautiful, wide, open valley.

The TMF is a perfect rod choice for the main stream in the valley, while the 2wt is a great model for the creek above the confluence. Both streams hold native Rio Grande Cutthroat trout that have a reputation of being lightning fast on striking your dry fly. I find small trout hit a dry fly differently than large trout for most of the streams I fish. The small trout roll over the fly making a big splash which is why I love fishing for them so much. They provide for some exciting fishing even though they are small...my favorite! And for an angler to be successful, you had better be stealthy with your approach to these streams.
