DryPoint Etching - November

This month's featured artwork is another drypoint etching by Jon Dickey. I met Jon when I got my first job out of college. I received a commercial art/advertising degree and thus started my career as an illustrator. In that first job, Jon shared an office with me and we worked as colleagues with his drafting table next to mine. We had a great year working as illustrators and traded several pieces of art while we worked there during our glory days.

It wasn't long that I was promoted to art manager and Jon accepted another illustrator position at the university. Jon and I stayed in close touch after our job changes until I relocated to another state with a career change. Miss him to this day, and still feel sad in my heart thinking about his passing...however, his art that hangs in my house puts a smile on my face. He was a good guy....
