Browns and Bows

Today was just too nice of a day to not go fishing. High sixties and sunshine makes for a perfect day to hike mountain trails and drop into some streams to float a fly. I started off with a jacket but quickly peeled that off plus another shirt layer after working the stream for about an hour.

Rich went with me to our home waters and it was so relaxing being in that beautiful mountain environment. After we got rigged up and started fishing, we would meet every now and then as we crossed paths going to different parts of the stream. We had a good day. The browns were splashing on the dry flies for the take and several were netted for catch-and-release moments....and rainbows too.

Gear: Winston WT 7' 2wt fly rod; Trutta Perfetta fly reel; #14 Flying Ant; #14 Tan Caddis.

This was the first time out on the water with the Trutta Perfecta fly reel and it proved to be perfect for these streams...the click-and-pawl drag is dialed in just right for these little wild trout. It's an awesome reel!!! I'm going to be anxious to use it on some medium size streams with a little larger trout...its sure to be a performer there too.
