All Brown Trout Today

Rich, Neal, and I went up to the super volcano today for some fishing at high altitude in an amazing environment. I can't believe we live so close to this natural beauty. We can do a day trip, get in a full day of fishing, and be back home for dinner. We all got into brown trout and it made for a very nice day. This is becoming one of my favorite places to fish.

Gear: Winston Boron III LS 8' 4wt fly rod; Bauer SST4 fly reel; Rio Lightline WF4F

To be honest, I'm tired after walking all over this valley floor....so this is pretty much a photo post. Below are photos of today's fishing trip in no particular order.

  1. Very cool. That was tough walking for me on the grass bunches.

    1. Yeah, a little tough for me too. Had to keep focus on where I was stepping as we hiked back to the area we wanted to fish. First time for me to fish this particular area of the preserve. I now know which stream section in this area holds the bigger browns. No one had an ugly brown trout hit their net...just a beautiful day too.
