Tailgate Party

My Idea of a tailgate party has nothing to do with partying in a parking lot with thousands of cars and people at a football stadium. No, my kind of tailgate party is next to a trout stream, and gearing up for a day of fly fishing.

One of the best parts of the day is when I arrive at the stream location and park the truck. A lot is going through my mind at this point...the water flow, any hatches that may be happening, best fly to start with, and if there are other anglers nearby. When I'm at the tailgate unloading the various gear, I can hear the stream rushing behind me and it's difficult to stay patient while rigging up my rod. Take a deep breath, enjoy the sounds of nature, and be sure the knots I'm tying are good ones...
