Bosque Del Apache

A must place to see - Bosque Del Apache. Be sure to bring your camera and binoculars. From late October to late January, sandhill cranes move among several areas throughout the day to feed, rest, and socialize. If you're lucky, you can also see coyotes, mule deer, and javelina in the open fields. And wild turkeys begin moving to the northern part of the refuge to join up with other family groups in separate male and female roosting flocks.

I haven't seen anything quite like this refuge. It truly is a spectacular place for wildlife viewing!

  2. We try to visit there at some time each year...the Crane Festival is a fun time even with the crowds of visitors.
