Winston LT-5 Fly Rod

The Winston LT-5 rod was introduced in 1996 with immediate success and started the multi-piece rod revolution in fly fishing. These incredibly smooth-casting, 5-piece Winston fly rods fish wonderfully and travel exceptionally well. They feature soft tips, rod actions that are slightly faster and crisper than Winston's WT series, and, of course, the distinctive feel found only in a Winston. The internal spigot ferrule system ensures that the taper and internal diameter of one section of the rod exactly matches that of the adjoining section. These are great rods, whether you're hiking into the backcountry or just heading out for a day's fishing...they came in line weights of 2 through 8 during their product run.

I'm very fortunate to have one of these rods. It's pretty much perfect for a couple of meadow streams that I enjoy fishing up in northern New Mexico. My rod is an 8'3" 3wt that was built in 2003 and features a factory custom handle and reel seat...a fabulous rod for tightlines with those wild browns and native cutthroats.
