First String - Flies
Based on what dry flies I tied on the tippet last year, I'm expecting to use the same six flies most of the time this year. These flies are first string selections and have worked for me reliably through the years. Yeah, the one fly that is fished most often changes from year to year, but it's pretty much the same flies on my regular rotation of trout streams. For sure, there will be other flies used, based on what hatch is popping at any given moment, but these six flies will be designated to one pocket fly box and be ready for action when the runoff is over.
